Is it not effective as ammonia-containing hair dyes?

  • No, we substituted Ammonia -which can cause allergic reactions and can dry the hair- with MEA, which is softer on the hair and does the same job.

What are the ingredients?

  • Color revealer:

aqua (water), hydrogen peroxide, cetearyl alcohol, laureth-3, ceteareth-20, hexyldecanol, hexyldecyl laurate, parfum (fragrance), etidronic acid, oxyquinoline sulfate.

  • *Does it trigger allergies?*

Shine On has no ingredients that may cause allergic reactions like ammonia, resorcinol, PPD, preservatives and gluten. The ingredients used in Shine On have a significantly lower allergenic potential, but that cannot exclude allergic reactions in individuals that are sensitive and reactive to other substances so please make sure to perform the SKIN SENSITIVITY TEST 48 hours before each product use.

 

  • *How can I perform the skin allergy test?*
  1. Remove earrings. Behind the ear and using a cotton bud, apply a small quantity of the unmixed colorant product (The Colorant Cream) sufficient to cover an area of 1 to 2cm² (e.g. the size of a small coin). Reapply allowing it to dry between each application. Carefully reseal the colorant container and keep it for your application 48 hours later.

 

  1. Leave it for 48 hours without washing, covering or touching. If during this period you notice any abnormal reactions, such as itching or swelling in or around the test area, DO NOT APPLY THE PRODUCT

Can I go from black/dark brown to blonde with Shine On in one go?

  • No, as it requires bleaching the hair which is very harmful and harsh on both your hair and scalp. However, you can go one or two shades lighter or darker in a single treatment.

Can I reach level 7, 8, 9 or 10 (any blonde shade) without bleach?

  • You can always go one or two shades lighter or darker in a single treatment without bleaching your hair. However, if you have darker hair color, you will need to bleach your hair before dyeing it which is very harmful for both your hair and scalp.

Does it cover grey hair?

  • Yes.

How many colors/shades do you have?

  • 20 shades from black to super blonde

How to apply it?

  • Please follow the instructions in the leaflet and don’t leave the dye on your hair for more than the recommended time as over processing will not intensify the color nor will have any additional effect.

Will Shine On dry my hair?

  • The healthiest way to color hair is by using natural colorants. However, if you tried them and they didn’t work out for you then medical dyes would be the best option, Also our advice to you is to use darker dyes due to the lower amount of bleaching agents that they contain.

Can I apply it on a previously dyed hair?

  • Yes but we advise you to wait for 4 weeks before dying it again.

Can I apply it only on the roots?

  • Of course, you can check our shades and choose the most suitable one or one shade darker than your current hair color.

Can I mix 2 different colors to obtain one specific shade?

  • We have 20 different shades to choose from please check them, however if you want to mix a specific color yourself, you can mix it with another Shine On hair dye only.

Should I apply it with heat?

  • No, it’s not necessary.

Can I apply it at home?

  • Yes, of course you can, but we advise you to get it done by one of the Hair Addict Professionals at their salons.

Can it be used during pregnancy and lactation?

  • Preferably, avoid using the product during pregnancy and breastfeeding, since skin can be more sensitive to a number of substances under such circumstances. If in doubt, consult a doctor.

I‘ve colored my hair with henna before, can I still use the dye?

  • After application of henna, you should wait for at least 3 weeks before applying chemical hair dyes. It is best to do a strand test before applying chemical dyes to your entire hair; it will help to tell you what color you get and if there is any negative reaction over henna hair dye due to bad quality henna impurities.

Can I apply it in one of your certified salons?

  • Yes of course.

I relaxed my hair chemically. Can I Use the dye?

  • If you have relaxed hair, it’s best to see a professional colorist. Because relaxed hair doesn’t always react as you expect to hair colors. Visiting our Hair Addict Professionals will help you get the expected results.

Will only one box be able to cover my hair?

  • It depends on your hair length and thickness. If you have long thick hair, you may need 2 boxes.

I have to different tones/ 2 different colors in my hair and I want a specific color

  • It’s better to consult one of our Hair Addict professionals or even get it done in one of their salons for best results.

Do I have to use the revealer?

  • Yes. In order to dye your hair, you have to mix the revealer with the coloring cream. Our advice to you is to use darker dyes due to the lower amount of bleaching agents that they contain.
